What is a Direct Cremation?
A Direct Cremation is an unattended, low cost, no frills, simple cremation option.
Who are We?
With funeral homes in Headington and Marston, we are family owned and managed, offering a personal service. As a local, independent funeral director with over 65 years experience combined we are a small company compared to Pure Cremation, Memoria and Simplicity.
What’s included?
A member of our team to look after you and guide you through every step of the cremation arrangements including the completion of all necessary paperwork. This can be completed by coming in to our funeral home, or we can send them to you via email.
The transfer of the person who has died within Oxfordshire from a private address, nursing home or hospital in office hours to our funeral home in Marston, Oxford.
Looking after the person who has died before their cremation takes place.
Being able to pay your respects in our Quiet Room, in office hours, Monday to Thursday, for 45 minutes (by appointment).
A simple but dignified coffin of our choosing.
Providing a suitable vehicle and two members of our team to transfer the person who has died from our care directly to the crematorium of our choosing.
Collection of the cremated remains and looking after them at our funeral home in Marston, free of charge, for two weeks
The Homewood Direct Unattended Cremation is only available on week days and excludes all public holiday. The cremation will take place on a day and time of our choosing.
We will call you as soon as the person who has died is in our care and again the day before the cremation just to remind you of the date so wherever you are you can remember the person who has died in your own way.
We must be in receipt of all statutory documentation before we confirm the date of the cremation. We highly recommend that any documents are posted to us via special delivery, or if you prefer you can hand deliver them to us.
Our Direct Unattended Cremation service is very competitively priced and requires payment in full prior to the cremation taking place.
Please note that with a Direct Unattended Cremation no family members or friends can attend the cremation.
Additional Fees:
The transfer of the person who has died out of office hours, from anywhere in Oxfordshire, to our funeral home in Marston £275.00
We are able to help outside of Oxfordshire, and a cost of £1.80 per return mile will be chargeable after the first 15 miles.
For the cremation taking place at the crematorium of your choosing £215.00 (this is a third party cost and is subject to change at any time)
