Here is some information about the Crematoria and Cemeteries in our local area of Oxfordshire, which we hope will be useful when deciding the location for your loved one’s funeral. If you would like more information, or if there is another location that you are considering, please do ask us.
In addition to the Cemeteries listed below, some churchyards and parish burial grounds do have plots available for full burials and interments of cremated remains. Spaces in Churchyards are usually only available for parishioners, and Parish Councils may implement increased fees in their burial grounds for non-residents.
Please note that we will contact the Crematorium or Cemetery Authority on your behalf to book the date and time of the funeral.

The meadow at Aylesbury is rich in natural beauty. A special place to spend time listening to the skylark’s song amid the expansive skies and sweeping vales, taking in the fine views of the Chiltern Hills and beyond. As you enter, we have a beautiful pond to offer encouragement to wildlife and wildflowers. This calming corner is also home to our memorial panel, with slate plaques that commemorate those buried in the meadow. Burials at Aylesbury Vale are simple, using only natural materials and leaving the lightest of footprints in the picturesque Buckinghamshire countryside. Ashes can also be laid to rest at the meadow, nestled among vibrant wildflowers and grasses, local wildlife and grazing sheep

The Chapel has been designed to overlook some of the prettiest countryside in Oxfordshire and provides seating for up to 100 people.
The mature, award-winning Garden of Remembrance offers a place for ashes to be scattered, and there are a variety of memorial options offered.

The memorial gardens and cemetery sections offer memorialisation made mainly from British stone and so will blend perfectly with the green meadows and scattered woodland adjacent to the site.
Memoria’s North Oxfordshire Crematorium & Memorial Park offers cremation & natural burial services. The natural burial section caters for families who wish for burial in a non-traditional manner, respecting the work of nature and without any visible memorial. This form of burial is proving to be in greater demand than ever before.
The chapel seats 130 people, it has the potential to stand and seat 280 by including the foyer space, and can accommodate services of over 400 people on the site by piping the service outside under the porte-cochere and through to the Churchill Pavilion. It may be used for cremation, burial or memorial services. Parking for 150 vehicles is also available with further overflow capacity.

Oxford City Council run four cemeteries in Oxford. Botley is the only cemetery which has good availability for new full burial plots, however there are limited plots available in Wolvercote Cemetery for residents only. Reclaimed graves are available across all four cemeteries (please ask for more information about these types of graves), and there are ashes plots available in all four cemeteries. Each cemetery has a Chapel where a service can be held beforehand if wished.

Oxford Crematorium has two Chapels, with Memorial Chapel seating 36 mourners and St. John’s seating 95. There is also a large Garden of Remembrance where ashes can be scattered, and there are many different memorial options available.

Westmill Woodland Burial Ground is a beautiful natural burial ground on the B 4508 near the Oxfordshire / Wiltshire border just off the A420, on an organic farm with views over the Vale of White Horse.
There is an open sided ‘roundhouse’ structure – a shelter for gatherings and services which can typically seat up to 40 mourners.

Please note that grave digging charges are separate and are payable directly to the grave digger.
Use of the Roundhouse, chairs and speaker system for services and the wooden coffin cart are currently free of any additional charge.
